MatchWire uses only essential cookies and local storage to ensure the site functions correctly and securely. We do not use advertising, tracking or third-party analytics cookies. This policy explains what we store, why, and how you can control cookies in your browser.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and improve performance. Local storage works similarly but stores data directly in your browser. Both are standard web technologies.
Cookies We Use
MatchWire uses only strictly necessary cookies and local storage items. These are essential for the site to load, maintain session security and remember your consent preferences. We do not use any cookies for advertising, analytics, social media tracking or personalisation beyond basic functionality.
| Cookie / Storage Item | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| matchwire_consent | Stores your cookie consent preference | 1 year |
| matchwire_session | Maintains your session state for security | Session |
| matchwire_preferences | Remembers basic display preferences (e.g. dark mode toggle) | 1 year |
These items do not collect personal data beyond what is necessary for the site to function. No information is shared with third parties.
How to Control Cookies
Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies through their settings. You can also set your browser to notify you when a cookie is placed. Blocking essential cookies may affect how MatchWire works — for example, you may need to re-set your preferences each visit.
To manage cookies in your browser:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
For further guidance, visit the About Cookies website.
Local Storage
In addition to cookies, MatchWire may use local storage to remember your preferences (such as the dark mode setting). This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers. You can clear local storage through your browser’s developer tools or settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. If we make material changes, we will notify users via a site notice or email where appropriate.
