How the Eredivisie works
The Eredivisie is the highest professional football league in the Netherlands. It consists of 18 clubs that play each other twice – once at home and once away – for a total of 34 matches per club over the course of a season. The season typically runs from August to May, with a short winter break in December and January.
The club that finishes top of the table at the end of the season is crowned champions and earns a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Runners-up and third-placed teams qualify for European competitions (Champions League or Europa League depending on the season’s allocation). The fourth-placed team and the winner of the play-offs (involving teams finishing 5th–8th) may also earn a UEFA Europa Conference League spot.
At the bottom, the team that finishes 18th is relegated directly to the Eerste Divisie (second tier). The teams finishing 16th and 17th enter a promotion/relegation play-off with teams from the Eerste Divisie for the right to remain in the Eredivisie. Points are awarded as three for a win, one for a draw and none for a loss. If teams are level on points, goal difference is the primary tiebreaker, followed by goals scored and head-to-head record.
How to read the fixtures
All kick-off times displayed on this page are shown in UK time (BST/GMT), automatically adjusted based on your browser’s time zone. Fixtures are grouped by matchday (speelronde), with most matches taking place on weekends and occasional midweek rounds. If a match is postponed, it will be indicated in the fixture list with a status update.
The fixture list is updated on the platform as soon as official schedules are confirmed. During matchdays, live scores and statuses (kick-off, half-time, full-time) are refreshed every few minutes. You can refresh the page at any time to see the latest data.
Results & what they mean
Once a match is completed, the final score is recorded and the result is reflected in the league table immediately. A win earns three points, a draw gives one point to each side, and a loss yields none. The table column order follows the standard: position, team, played, won, drawn, lost, goals for, goals against, goal difference, points.
If two or more clubs finish with the same number of points, the following tiebreakers apply in order: goal difference, goals scored, then head-to-head results between the tied teams. Further tiebreakers, such as away goals in head-to-head matches, may be used if necessary.
